I am awake, I am alive, and today the journey continues, as once again I hang with “the future”.
No speeches today, no words of wisdom to share. Rather words of wisdom to hear, as the youth do the sharing today.
Yes, today I have the honour and privilege of supporting as a Youth Facilitator guides discussion at our “station”. As I envision the day, I can’t help thinking this is going to be like sitting in a room of elders who have no idea they are elders – such is the power of the youth, such is their youthful unawareness.
Today I am paying attention, as I think of all the youth I have met across this country and the message that has echoed over and over again,
“No one listens to us. No one hears us.”
Today, I will listen (as opposed to just being silent).
Today, I will hear with my entire heart and being (rather than just with my ears). Today, I will learn and then, I will put the newfound wisdom to good use.
So yes, today is going to be a good day, a great day, surrounded by teachers … kinda like we are every single day.
Thanks for the reminder Creator!
So, to you my friend, I send love and support and encouragement. I pray you too listen and learn from your teachers today; in whatever form they take.
