The Power of My Mom

I am awake, I am alive, and the power of my Mom runs in my veins – a woman in work boots and hardhat, piling lumber outside in -40 weather to feed her family.

There is power in my blood.

The power of my Dad runs in my veins – the man who worked and built and laughed and sang and tickled his way through every day of the first 17 years of my life.

There is power in my blood.

But it is my time to ensure the power is kept up, so as to be passed on. I must work hard – mind, body, spirit – to keep this power focused and useful.

And I must use it, knowing the supply is infinite but useless when I hoard it. I must speak my truth (our truth). I must hug long and deep when hearts break and sit silent in pain, when all that is needed is my presence.

I must ensure that wisdom is equal if not greater than power at all times and I must recognize when the most powerful thing I can do is walk away.

All I must do. All I must be. Why?

Because there is power in my blood. As there is in yours as well, my friend. Honour your power today. Honour the best of your blood.

I love you!
HUGSSSSSSSS
