Your Personal Part of Reconciliation …

You have heard me say it a hundred times, “Reconciliation is a journey …”

But what many fail to realize is that the journey I refer to is not just for our country, but for each of us as individuals.

Each of us must look at what we were taught, the prejudices and stereotypes we have about each other, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, unpacking them and setting them aside. Only then can we begin to reconcile. Only then can we engage in a healthy manner. Only then can we not only recruit but RETAIN Indigenous employees and students.

My personal journey has involved much unpacking and unlearning, bringing me to today, a place that requires apology …

Let’s talk about it.
